Well the Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban marriage finally took place on 25th June 06. Nicole Kidman, as you probably already know, was Tom Cruise's ex after their 10 yr marriage ended in 2001. They also have two adopted kids between them.

All reports indicate that everything seems to be going just fine between Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban as they both prepare to spend some time together in London England. Nicole's next movie location is there.

A Little History on
Keith And Nicole

In case you haven't been following how these two celebrities managed to find each other, they first met in LA at a dinner honouring Australians back in Jan 05. In June 05, Keith was apparently dating Nikki Taylor, the supermodel who appeared in one of his videos.

But the following month it was reported that Nicole went for a motorcycle ride with Keith in Woodstock New York. They had lunch, shopped and from all accounts, had a great time. Of course the "agents" denied anything serious going on.

Then in Sept, they had lunch again in the garden of the Good News Cafe in Woodbury Connecticut. And once again, it was reported that they looked very comfortable in each others company.

In Oct 05, at a place called the Country Boy near Keiths home in Nashville, lunch again. She apparently had a Turkey sandwich and Keith a burger.

And then in November, while walking arm-in-arm with Urban in Boston, Nicole Kidman was photographed wearing a ring on her wedding finger. So that cranked up the rumor mill to warp speed. And for Xmas, Nicole spent some of the holiday season with Keith and his family.

As the months passed, things just seemed to continue to get more serious for Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman. Finally on May 15th Nicole told reporters (apparently unbeknownst to Keith she was going to do this), that she and Keith were engaged. Keith was in the middle of a recording session when he heard "the word was out." And from all accounts, he was not the happiest musician in town. The publicists for both Keith and Nicole finally confirmed the engagement.

And the rest, as they say, is now history.

Pre Wedding Plan

The premarriage Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban news was that Nicole came up with a plan.
  • No invitations sent out ... guests would be invited by e-mail and followed up with a personal phone call from Kidman

  • Guests would be picked up by Limo and privately driven to the location

  • All helo's in the Sydney area have been reserved by Nicole to the tune of $300,000 to keep the paparazzi grounded

  • Photos and video footage would be released later by the couple

  • Wedding would be held at night so the wedding would take place under the cover of darkness

    A civil aviation safety authority in Australia thought Nicole's idea was a good plan commenting that "Certainly, the cover of darkness would make it difficult if not impossible for the paparazzi to do anything from an airborne position. Miss Kidman made a very smart move in the circumstances."

    As we now know
    the wedding did happen

    Yes ... the 25th June 06 wedding united the Hollywood and Nashville elite. That special event we now know, took place in a small church in Sydney Australia.

    With finances not an issue in this marriage (BTW ... Keith made just over $20Mil and Kidman just over $23Mil in 2005), can anyone see why these two should not have wed and start to live happily ever after? I'm not totally convinced that this is going to last, but if it does, I wish them both the best.
